Echocardiographer
Job DescriptionThe Echocardiographer performs quality echocardiograms and various echocardiography studies on patients under the direction of a Cardiologist. This role involves gathering and documenting appropriate data, reporting probable findings to physicians, and ensuring all studies meet Cardiologist expectations. The Echocardiographer is responsible for successfully transmitting studies to the viewing station for Cardiologist interpretation, performing all study charges, and retrieving reports as requested by referring physicians.
Responsibilities- Perform quality echocardiograms and various echocardiography studies.
- Gather and document appropriate patient data.
- Report probable findings to the appropriate physicians.
- Transmit studies to the viewing station for Cardiologist interpretation.
- Work closely with the Cardiologist to ensure studies meet expectations.
- Perform all study charges and retrieve reports as requested.
- Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular or Ultra-Sonography program.
- 1 year of experience in an Echocardiography Laboratory.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
- Preferred certifications include:
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
This position is scheduled for the AM shift, with an 8-hour work duration.
