Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist experienced in screening and diagnostic mammography with the ability to work independently and rotate on mobile units.
Responsibilities
- Work in a women's center and rotate to mobile mammography vans once or twice a week
- Patient volume averages 40-50 mammography exams per day
- Perform screening, diagnostic, invasive mammography, and DEXA scans according to established protocols
- Use 2 Hologic 3D units and 1 GE Pristina 3D unit in-clinic, and Hologic 3D unit on the mobile van
- Shifts are 8 hours with variations: 6:30a-3p, 7a-3:30p, or 7:30a-4p; mobile van shifts may run 6:45a-4p
- No on-call required
- Responsibilities include performing all breast imaging procedures, assisting with invasive techniques, ensuring patient safety, and educating patients
- Must be able to select and operate mammography equipment and apply appropriate radiation protection practices
- Rotation to mobile units is required
- Team support provided; must participate in departmental quality improvement plans
- Pass/fail EKG testing required on first day with two attempts permitted
- A 50-mile radius rule applies for eligibility
- All local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- ARRT certification for RT and M required
- ODH license required if applicable
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institution preferred
- At least 1 year of experience as a registered mammography technologist preferred
- Must have knowledge of quality control processes and be comfortable working independently
- Experience with stereotactic biopsy preferred
