Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology (Pontiac, MI)

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Locum Physician to provide outpatient hematology and oncology care in Pontiac, MI. In this position, you will deliver outpatient clinic services on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including participation in clinic call as needed. You will work within a collaborative environment supported by experienced oncology RNs, medical assistants, social workers, dietitians, and nurse navigators, utilizing the Cerner EMR system. The practice setting involves managing 15-20 outpatient cancer patients daily in a well-established oncology and hematology clinic, including infusion services, onsite CBCs, and tumor board participation.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in hematology and oncology outpatient care
- Proficiency in managing hematology and oncology procedures
- Ability to participate actively in tumor board meetings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfort with outpatient EMR systems, specifically Cerner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Basic on-call competency for clinic coverage
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience in similar outpatient oncology and hematology settings
- Certification in Oncology or Hematology
- Experience with infusion centers and onsite diagnostic procedures
- Familiarity with scheduling and managing patient care workflows
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
- Minimum of 2 years of outpatient hematology/oncology practice experience
Other Requirements:
- Valid medical license to practice in Michigan
- Participation in clinic call as scheduled
- Reliable transportation to and from the clinic location
- Willingness to start on January 19, 2026, for a period lasting until July 31, 2026
- Covering a recruitment gap, supporting full patient care continuity
