Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with an active AL or compact license, night shift availability, and strong IV and wound care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shifts, typically 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00, with an option for 4x12s
• Floating to other units may be required
• Every other weekend required
• May be assigned charge nurse duties as needed
• Level II Trauma center environment
• Responsibilities include IV starts, wound care, and following isolation precautions
• Must take a required 30-minute meal break per shift
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification from AHA
• Fit Test required
• IV start, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac skills required
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
