Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Contract
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in a critical access hospital environment. This unique role is ideal for experienced ER nurses who are comfortable working across multiple care areas, including Emergency, Acute, and Long-Term Care (LTC), within a small hospital setting where teamwork and flexibility are essential.

- Schedule:
- Six (6) 12-hour shifts per two-week period
- 72 hours bi-weekly
- Every third weekend off
- Position Urgency: Normal

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across ER, acute, and LTC patient populations
- Perform rapid assessments, triage, and emergency interventions as needed
- Administer medications and perform procedures for acute and LTC patients
- Serve as backup support in acute and LTC areas when ER patient volume is low
- Accurately document patient care and outcomes using the electronic medical record
- Collaborate closely with providers and interdisciplinary care teams
- Adhere to safety standards and infection-control protocols (note: facility is not latex-free)
Required Qualifications:
- Active Hawaii RN license (must be active by the start of the assignment; travelers must apply upon offer acceptance if not already licensed)
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently across care settings
- Flexibility to float between departments as operational needs require
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS)
Additional Information:
- Holiday coverage may be required
- EMR system used: EPIC
- Must be able to arrive prior to assignment start to complete required employee health onboarding
