We are seeking a board-certified Family Practice Physician for a 1-week locum tenens hospitalist assignment in New Mexico. This opportunity begins on Jan 26, 2026, and features a 7 on, 7 off schedule with 24-hour call coverage. The role includes morning rounds followed by out-of-house call for the remainder of each shift, offering a dynamic and rewarding locum experience in a rural hospital setting. Job Details Location: New Mexico Start Date: Jan 26, 2026 LOA: 1 week Provider Type Needed: Family Practice Physician Schedule: 7 on, 7 off hospitalist coverage; 24-hour call shifts; mornings for rounds, followed by out-of-house call Responsibilities and Duties Provide hospitalist care for admitted patients during assigned shifts Conduct morning rounds and manage patient care plans Respond to inpatient needs and emergencies as they arise throughout the shift Take out-of-house call after rounds until the next morning Collaborate with hospital staff to support quality patient care Utilize Cerner EMR for patient documentation and communication Additional Information Current license to practice in New Mexico required Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine required Prior experience as a rural health hospitalist provider preferred Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required NPDB documentation must be provided with the application Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
