Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) independently provide anesthesia care across a variety of surgical specialties including orthopedics, neuro, ENT, GI, pediatrics, urology, and OB/GYN. They manage their own anesthesia cases, perform epidurals, spinals, central and arterial line placements, and blocks while collaborating with physicians in a hospital setting. The role requires advanced certifications and involves rotational on-call duties with credentialing through EPIC EMR systems.
- Dates: ASAP - Ongoing
- Shifts: Mon - Fri 6:30-3:30
- Beds: 116
- Group consists of 6 CRNA's and 3 MD's
- Call: CRNAs' are 1 st call, MDs are backup
- 1 CRNA works in-house for OB and 1 on beeper back up, with 1 MD also on beeper backup every day
- Locum CRNA will do backup beeper call 1:4 or 1:5
- Cases:General Bread & Butter: Ortho, General, Neuro, ENT, GI, Vascular, Pediatrics, Urology & Robotics, OB/GYN, No heart surgery; no Vascular
- CRNA's do their own cases and do their own epidurals, spinals, central and arterial lines and blocks
- CRNAs work independently
- Any emergency privileges: Couple weeks if needed
- certifications: PALS, all required (Must be American Hearth Assn, Advanced Certification Institute, or Pro Med Certification)
- Any emergency privileges: Couple weeks if needed
- EMR: EPIC
- 60-90 day credentialing
