Opportunity:

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with 1:2 patient ratio
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Contract options of 13 or 26 weeks
• Every other weekend required
• Will float within service line to ICU units
• 3 guaranteed shifts per 13 weeks
• No on-call responsibilities
• 2 years of ICU experience required
• Travel experience required
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Epic charting system experience required
• Navy scrubs required
• 36 hours of orientation
• Must be competent in medical and surgical intensive care units
• Skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction management, central line care, ventilator management, arterial blood gas interpretation, and critical care procedures
• Care for patients with respiratory failure/ARDS, cardiac conditions, stroke, cardiac arrest, DKA, multi-organ failure, and sepsis
• Work with specialized equipment including IV pumps, CRRT/dialysis, ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and defibrillators
• Handle pre and post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal surgeries
• Support transplant patients and end-of-life/organ donation care

Facility:

This is a short-term acute care facility that serves as a Magnet and Teaching Hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation. The facility features 1,259 staffed beds and utilizes Epic charting system. The intensive care unit is a new 21-bed unit that provides comprehensive critical care services with full interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and various other specialties. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and offers extensive resources for complex medical cases including pre and post-transplant care.
