Job Description

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is looking for a skilled RN with experience in cardiac telemetry and post-surgical care. This unit provides care for a diverse patient population, including those recovering from cardiac procedures, orthopedic surgeries, and general surgical interventions. Nurses will be tasked with monitoring patients, managing critical drips, and performing various procedures related to patient care in a high-turnover environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients in a progressive care setting.
• Manage cardiac telemetry and vital signs.
• Perform procedures such as chest tube management and post-operative care.
• Administer medications and manage epidurals and PCA as needed.
• Coordinate with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS & ACLS certification required.
• Experience in a PCU or telemetry unit strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patient care.
• Competence in managing chest tubes and epidurals.
