Electrical Estimator Requirements & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating (healthcare and data center projects required).
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and Accubid
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Knowledge of NEC codes and construction standards.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Track record of success on projects ranging from $8M-$20M+.
Electrical Estimator Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, typically $10M and above.
- Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to determine labor, material, and equipment needs.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and maintain accurate cost databases.
- Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations during the bid process.
- Present finalized bids and proposals to leadership for review.
- Support turnover meetings to ensure a seamless transition of awarded projects.
- Identify value engineering opportunities to enhance competitiveness.
