This locum tenens position is for an Urgent Care Physician specializing in Occupational Health to support an outpatient clinic with a four-day weekday schedule. The role involves conducting occupational health evaluations, workplace injury management, and performing procedures such as EKGs, PFTs, and wound care. Candidates must be licensed physicians with experience in occupational or urgent care and capable of working independently without advanced practice provider support.
A healthcare organization is seeking a Physician to provide Occupational Health coverage on a locum basis. This role offers a steady daytime schedule and the opportunity to support an outpatient Occupational Health clinic during a medical leave.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: 4 days per week
- Hours: 8:00am-2:00pm
- On-Call: None
- Setting: Outpatient Occupational Health
- Patient Volume: 10-15 patients per day
- Contract: Short-term assignment with the possibility to extend
- Support: Independent role; no APP support required
- Overtime: Daily OT after 12 hours; weekly OT after 168 hours
- Procedures: EKGs, PFTs, wound care, and possible suturing
- Performing Occupational Health evaluations and post-offer medical clearance exams
- Managing workplace injuries and conducting fit-for-duty assessments
- Completing EKGs, PFTs, and basic procedures, including wound care
- Documenting patient encounters in accordance with clinic protocols
- Providing timely and appropriate medical recommendations
- Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and regulatory standards
- 1+ year of relevant experience in Occupational Health, Primary Care, or Urgent Care
- MD or DO degree
Active state medical license
- Proficiency with EKGs and PFTs
- Ability to manage minor procedures (wound care, possible suturing)
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and patient-engagement skills
- Experience in workplace injury management
- Familiarity with occupational safety protocols
- Strong documentation and EMR proficiency
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient setting
