Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Albuquerque, NM 87106 – New Mexico nursing jobs
• Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Acute Care
• Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
• Start Date: February 23, 2026
• End Date: May 25, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekly Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 (possible 1:6)
• Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours per week (facility may call off up to 3 times during the assignment)
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule (may vary by unit)
• Floating: Required to Med/Surg Tele, PCU, and lower acuity settings; may float to Emergency Department (ED)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – New Mexico or compact state (NM license can be pending at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (No RQI certifications accepted)
• Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Willingness to float to other units as needed
• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Non-local candidates only (must reside more than 75 miles from facility)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using Phillips cardiac monitors
• Initiate and maintain IVs, administer medications, and manage patient care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and more
• Float to PCU, lower acuity units, and Emergency Department (ED) as required
• Document patient care using Cerner electronic charting system
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as heart failure, COPD, renal transplant, trauma, stroke, oncology, GI bleed, sepsis, and more
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
