We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 7-day locum tenens assignment in Wisconsin. This opportunity begins on Jan 11, 2026, and features 24-hour solo coverage in a rural hospital setting, with shifts running noon to noon and a combination of on-site and on-call responsibilities.
Job Details

- Schedule: 24-hour shifts (noon to noon); typically 12-15 hours on-site with overnight call; minimal nightly callbacks
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide solo coverage for the emergency department and inpatient floor
- Perform procedures including cardioversion, central line placement, chest tube placement, EKG, fracture stabilization, hematoma blocks, I&D, IO lines, intubation, laceration repair, local anesthetic, rapid sequence intubation, and ventilator management
- Admit patients and conduct rounding
- Manage acute and emergent cases as needed
- Participate in handoff procedures at end of assignment (between 12pm-3pm)
- Utilize nearby or on-site sleeping amenities during overnight call hours
Additional Information
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Must have experience in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine with emergency experience
- Must be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Wisconsin
