American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position requiring 2+ years of PICU experience and proficiency with respiratory support equipment.
Responsibilities- Position is in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within a hospital setting
- Cares for children and adolescents with complex and life-threatening conditions
- Patient population includes unstable pediatric patients requiring continuous monitoring and interventions
- Responsibilities include use of Vapotherm, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment
- 12-hour day shifts are required
- May float between Pediatrics and Normal Newborn care units
- Provide age and culturally appropriate care for pediatric patients in critical care situations
- Consult and coordinate with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Monitor vital signs and perform interventions as necessary, including administering medications, starting IVs, and managing infusion therapy
- Monitor and interpret continuous cardiac and respiratory readings
- Assist physicians during examinations, treatments, and emergency procedures
- Educate and support families and caregivers of pediatric patients
- Participate in unit and hospital orientation as part of onboarding
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required per unit needs
- Adheres to HIPAA, OSHA, and safety regulations in all aspects of care
- Active IN or compact RN license in good standing
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher from an accredited program
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Comfort and experience with Vapotherm and/or CPAP/BiPAP respiratory support equipment
- Cognitive skills appropriate to the position
