Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse in Surgical Services will be responsible for delivering competent patient care across the continuum, with a focus on thorough assessments, clinical skills, accurate documentation, and professionalism. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, satisfaction of patient needs, and effective patient and family education.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough and accurate patient assessments across all stages of growth and development.
- Provide direct nursing care, demonstrating clinical competence, particularly related to surgical patients.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient care and progress.
- Demonstrate professionalism by identifying areas for growth and complying with policies.
- Foster patient satisfaction through courteous interactions and confidentiality adherence.
- Implement National Patient Safety Goals by following protocols for patient identification and safe practices.
- Individualize patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia types.
- Assure responsible and accountable patient care prioritization based on needs and conditions.
- Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and assessments.
- Assist in completing patient testing as needed and evaluate pre-admission testing orders.
- 1 year of ICU experience - Required
- RN License - Required
- BLS - Required
- ACLS - Required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
