Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. A commitment to patient and employee safety is paramount in all aspects of care delivery.
Responsibilities- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify teaching needs and goals based on the nursing admission assessment.
- Provide patient information and status for team conferences.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Assume charge responsibility as requested.
- Seek professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- BLS Certification Required prior to first shift.
- ACLS Required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience.
