Job Description – Structural Engineer
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead structural design, renovation, and inspection projects across various applications, including new construction, design-build, renovations, and adaptive reuse.
- Oversee structural analysis and design for commercial, institutional, educational, public-sector, and industrial buildings.
- Prepare designs, details, and analyses for low- and mid-rise structures using materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and cold-formed steel.
- Review and develop project calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
- Create finite element models for complex structural systems.
- Perform field activities, including site investigations, condition assessments, threshold inspections, and prepare corresponding documentation.
- Collaborate directly with clients to support strong relationships and maintain ongoing business.
- Complete additional assignments as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to independently manage projects with minimal oversight.
- Experience collaborating on multidisciplinary projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a structural emphasis.
- 8+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Active Florida P.E. license.
- Ability to bring or maintain base-business accounts.
- Proficiency in engineering, CADD, and BIM tools; AutoCAD and Revit required.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis software; experience with RAM, STAAD, ENERCALC, and/or Mathcad preferred.
- Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with consistent accuracy.
- Experience with various structural systems, complex projects, and preferably nonlinear analysis.
- Experience conducting structural inspections and assessments, especially for renovations.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Base salary $120K-$135K DOE
