Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least two years of PCU experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
• Day shifts available with 3x12 or 4x12 hour scheduling options (6:30–19:00)
• Floats required; ratios when floated may be 1:7 on Medical-Surgical units
• No call responsibilities
• Patient care includes monitoring and management in a stepdown/telemetry environment
• Active participation in nursing student support and clinical education is expected
• Orientation includes 16 hours of online and in-person activities starting on Sundays
• Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs
• No local candidates accepted due to the 100-mile radius rule

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of PCU experience required
• Certifications required: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the facility
• First time travelers are accepted
