The Surgical Technologist Lead coordinates surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment while supporting planning, organization, and evaluation of surgical services. This role requires a minimum of three years of operating room experience, certification or certification within 12 months, and skills in communication, conflict resolution, and time management. The position emphasizes clinical leadership in surgical support within a specialty service line.
The Surgical Tech Lead supports all services dealing with surgical procedures. The Surgical Tech Lead assists and supports the Service Line Clinician in overall planning, organization, direction and evaluation within surgical services. The Surgical Tech Lead is responsible for coordinating the supplies, instrumentation, and equipment for all surgeries related to that service line.
What We're Looking For:- Education: High School or GED, required.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). If incumbent is not certified, certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
- Experience: Minimum of three years operating room experience with proficiency in the Surgical Tech role. Minimum one year experience in specialty service line, required.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current Surgical Tech Certification through NBSTSA, preferred.
- ACLS for staff working in the Cardiovascular OR, required.
- Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competencytesting. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbalcommunication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, conflict resolution skills, time management skills and critical thinking skills.
- Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred): Encourage advancement of certification within 24 months.
- Work schedule: 6:30am - 5pm
