The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner provides advanced care to critically ill neonates in a Level IV NICU setting, working full-time 12-hour shifts. Responsibilities include managing high-risk and surgical neonatal cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in family communication. Candidates must be board-certified with relevant certifications and preferably have Level III/IV NICU experience.
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7A 7P or 7P 7A), weekdays, weekends, holidays; full-time ( 24 shifts/month)
Description:
Join a Level IV NICU surgical unit providing high-acuity care to critically ill neonates. This locum opportunity allows you to practice at the top of your scope, collaborate with neonatologists and multidisciplinary teams, and gain exposure to complex neonatal cases. ECMO exposure is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities:
Provide inpatient care for neonates, including high-risk and surgical cases
Obtain and document patient histories and discharge exams
Write medical orders within scope of practice
Participate in rounding, family communication, and high-risk deliveries
Support collaborative care with physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists
Qualifications:
Board-Certified Neonatal NP (NCC) or PA
Active Utah license (or eligibility)
Current BLS and NRP certifications
Experience in Level III or Level IV NICU preferred
ECMO familiarity a plus
