Locum tenens Emergency Medicine Physician position in Lafayette, LA providing 12-hour clinical shifts (7a-7p, 7p-7a) at a Level II trauma hospital with a 14-bed ED, seeing ~49 adult patients/day and ~5% admission rate. Requires active Louisiana license, board certification in EM/IM/FP with EM experience, ACLS/ATLS/PALS as applicable, EPIC EMR training, and participation in credentialing; temporary privileges available. Compensation includes travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance; coverage begins June 2025 for a 12-month commitment with minimum 7 shifts/month and preferred 20 shifts/month (two FT MDs needed).

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Licenses: Active Louisiana license required
- Board: BC EM/IM/FM
- Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (required if not BCEM)
- Experience: Residency-trained in EM/IM/FP with EM experience
- Other Qualifications: Must complete VPMA interview, EMR (EPIC) training & orientation
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide 12-hour ED coverage in a Level II trauma center
- Perform standard emergency medicine procedures
- Collaborate with NPPA staff and specialty backup
- Participate in EMR documentation using Ochsner EPIC
- Maintain credentialing and licensing requirements
