TRC is partnering with a leading renewable energy technology company to hire a Senior Buyer – BESS. This role supports a fast-growing organization focused on innovative solar and energy storage solutions. The position offers the opportunity to impact procurement operations for a high-priority product line within a dynamic, rapidly scaling environment.
 
Summary
The Senior Buyer – BESS manages procurement, planning, supplier negotiations, and inventory for components and electronics used in Battery Energy Storage Systems. This role ensures material availability, maintains accurate purchasing processes, manages MRP activities, and resolves supplier or inventory issues. It requires strong commercial acumen, technical understanding, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
 
Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement of raw materials, components, electronics, and connectors for BESS products.
• Execute sourcing activities including bidding, contracting, ordering, expediting, and transportation planning.
• Negotiate pricing and terms; ensure all purchase orders reflect accurate conditions.
• Resolve issues related to material planning, price discrepancies, POs, requisitions, and vendor deliveries.
• Support procurement initiatives such as SOX compliance, contracting best practices, and inventory programs.
• Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice and payment issues tied to procurement.
• Act as a subject-matter expert on materials, procurement processes, and supporting systems.
• Manage MRP processes and coordinate RMAs, deviations, ECNs, and FRRs as required.
• Support implementation of new technologies and process improvements.
• Monitor and manage Min-Max levels and identify supply risks.

 
Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of buying/purchasing experience.
• At least 2 years in Switchgear, Controlgear, Switchboard, Power Distribution Panels, Data Centers, Electrical Distributors, or related technical environments.
• Experience in a discrete contract manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of supply chain management processes.
• Inventory planning and MRP experience.
• Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• ERP experience; Great Plains (GP) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
