Position Title: Hone Operator

Wage: $17.50-$18.00 per hour

Shift: 2nd, 3rd

Hours: 2:30pm-11:00pm; 11:00pm-6:30am

Hone Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Set up and operate Sunnen hones to hone ID’s according to work instructions.
- Read prints and work instructions to determine required ID dimensions and tolerances
- Select mandrels, stones, wedges, and other components as required per job.
- Setup machine using indicators, setup parts, and other equipment to produce parts to required tolerances.
- Use appropriate measuring equipment to inspect finished parts.
- Ensure all gauges are calibrated and set accurately.
- Select appropriate jobs to run based on company procedures.
- Clean all parts after completion.
- Monitor and maintain hone tooling and gage pin inventories.
- Perform routine machine maintenance (preventive maintenance).
- Maintain work area cleanliness and organization.
- Log completed jobs for job tracking purposes.
- Work overtime as required to maintain production.
- Ensure careful handling of materials and tools to avoid damage.
- Understand the feeling and difference of an indicated mandrel and un-indicated mandrel.

Hone Operator Requirements:
- Ability to read micrometer, ID micrometer, indicator, and caliper.
- Ability to correctly use gauge pins.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic troubleshooting skills & mechanical aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Dedication to quality and efficiency.
- Good teamwork.
