This position requires a board-certified or board-eligible Obstetrics & Gynecology physician to provide inpatient and emergency care for OB/GYN patients in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include managing deliveries, performing surgical interventions, collaborating with private OB/GYNs, and participating in quality improvement and education initiatives. The role demands recent case experience, familiarity with EPIC EMR, and the ability to handle emergent and unassigned patient cases efficiently.
Must be able to meet this case log requirement:
1) OB: 75 deliveries in past 18 months
2) GYN: 50 cases in past 18 months

• Volume: Average 2 deliveries a day.

• Experience: More than 1 year

• Travel Reimbursement: Car and lodging
• Licenses/Certs: DE License, BC/BE

Responsibilities:
- Provide in-house coverage for unassigned or emergent obstetric patients, including evaluation, treatment, admission, and ongoing inpatient management.
- Respond to OB and GYN emergency cases, including walk-in patients, triage calls, and consults within the Emergency Department and throughout the hospital.
- Conduct histories and physical exams for all unassigned admissions and ensure timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Perform surgical interventions as needed for unassigned gynecologic emergencies and provide surgical assistance to attending OB/GYNs upon request.
- Collaborate with private OB/GYNs to provide inpatient care and communicate updates on shared patients.
- Support discharge planning, ensuring appropriate follow-up care for patients needing outpatient services.
- Contribute to the development of clinical pathways and order sets to enhance quality care in the Obstetrical Emergency Department.
- Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and staff education programs.
Credentials:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Eligible for Delaware medical licensure.
