Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with ortho and neuro experience and VA or compact licensure.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Level I trauma operating room within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics
- Handles a variety of surgical cases including general, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, gynecology, oncology, robotics, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and sports medicine
- Operates specialized equipment such as ROSA, Si and Xi daVinci robots, stealth, O-Arm, and HIPEC
- Shift is 3x12 hours, 7:00am-7:00pm, with call rotation and weekend rotation with staff
- Holiday coverage is required, including working one holiday per contract
- No local candidates accepted per facility radius rule
- Main responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a wide range of surgical specialties in a busy OR environment
- Level I trauma OR experience with 25 suites and 24/7 nursing coverage
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
- Must be able to participate in staff call and weekend rotations
- Holiday coverage is required as part of the schedule
Requirements
- Active RN license: Virginia or Compact required; pending licenses accepted only for single-state, non-compact holders
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience circulating and scrubbing, including total joints, craniotomies/neuro, and ortho trauma
- Operational experience in ortho and neuro OR cases required
- Two professional references required for consideration
