Registered Nurse, Orthopedic Specialty Unit

Sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and relocation up to $7,500 for experienced RNs. Full-time Day RN (7a–7p) on Ortho Specialty Unit, Joynt Camp at Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury NC; 12-hour shifts, 17-bed unit, 1:6 nurse–patient ratio; ongoing/permanent position. - Graduate of accredited nursing program; - Current RN license in appropriate state; - ≥1 year relevant experience preferred; - NC-approved restrictive interventions training within 3 months of hire; - ENPC, TNCC or CEN preferred.

• Patient Populations: Post-op orthopedic & bariatric weight loss, urology surgical patients as well as other general surgery patients, sometimes receive medical overflow
• 1:6 Nurse patient ratio, 17 beds

What We're Looking For:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
  • ENPC, TNCC or CEN; preferred.
  • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire, required.

What You'll Do:

• Provides comprehensive nursing care for post-operative orthopedic, bariatric weight loss, and urology surgical patients, ensuring safe recovery and optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitors and manages complex surgical patients, including pain control, mobility progression, wound care, and prevention of post-operative complications.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams while effectively managing medical-surgical overflow patients, prioritizing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
