The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing shipping orders, coordinating with order pickers, preparing shipping documentation and labels, scheduling carrier pickups, and maintaining accurate records of shipments. This role involves coordinating LTL and small parcel shipments, handling purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of parts and materials. Physical activity includes walking, lifting, and organizing pallets for local delivery and outbound staging areas.

Salary: $37,440-$45,760 per year
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6:00am-3:00pm
QPS Employment Group has a great Shipping Clerk position available at a company in Seward, IL. This is a 1st shift, direct hire position.
Shipping Clerk Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create shipping orders, one account at a time, as product becomes available on the Shipping Queue.
- Distribute picking paperwork to Order Pickers by account.
- When picking is completed, the paperwork is returned to the Shipping Clerk and the system is updated with the specific location and quantity information indicated by the Order Picker.
Final shipping documents are then created, as well as shipping labels, and placed on the appropriate pallet.
- For LTL orders, the customer specified carrier is contacted and pickup is scheduled.
- Small parcel orders can be picked and processed through the UPS shipping station.
- UPS tracking numbers are then added to the first tab of the Shipper in the box marked “Tracking no(s)”.
- All working copies are filed by account.
- Orders are confirmed by end of day.
- Parts are delivered from the main plant or purchased from an outside supplier.
- Jobs are handled in the order of “HOT” parts first, then any yellow travelers, and finally partial orders are processed when necessary.
- Complete the “Sub-contract Worksheet”.
- Look up existing PO. Create new PO if necessary.
- Create the shipper, packing list, and print. Also gather any required gauges or packing supplies.
- Tag pallets for that are ready for local delivery.
- Create BOL for LTL orders.
- Call LTL carrier, wrap pallets, and move to outbound staging area.
- When parts return, create a receiver.
- Call for inspection.
- Tag pallets for the next operation.
Shipping Clerk Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Able to work self-directed.
- Good verifiable attendance record.
- Job is performed in a sitting position typically but requires plenty of walking as well as, pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting (not to exceed 50lbs).
