Registered Nurse - CVOR
Job Details:
• Work 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts with guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week for 8/10-hour shifts, 36 hours for 3 twelve-hour shifts, or 48 hours for 4 twelve-hour shifts
• Must be comfortable with scrubbing and rate 3/4 in scrubbing CV/PV/Heart and Lung transplant procedures
• 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted if they have Level I Trauma experience
• BLS certification required
• Call requirement approximately 100 hours per 6 weeks with 1 call weekend per 6 weeks (Friday evening to Monday morning)
• Float required to other OR specialties
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Perform heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO procedures
• Work with adult and geriatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:1 during day shifts
• Use Cerner charting system (preferred experience)
• 40 hours of orientation provided
• Travel experience required
• Must have Indiana license, compact license, or Indiana temporary license in hand prior to start
• 2 supervisor references required
• Must graduate from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility operates multiple locations with a combined total of over 700 staffed beds and maintains an average daily census of 70-80 patients. The facility features 24 rooms and offers free parking for staff. The organization specializes in cardiovascular and pulmonary procedures, including complex heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO support. The facility utilizes Cerner charting systems and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support for high-acuity surgical cases.
