The physiatrist will oversee admissions, discharges, rounding, and collaborate with neurosurgeons and pain management specialists, with opportunities to develop outpatient programs. This leadership role offers a supportive academic environment with resident training and a balanced call schedule.
An established inpatient rehab unit, located within an acute care hospital and connected to a respected university health system, is seeking a new Medical Director. The current director is preparing for retirement, and the team is looking for a strong physiatrist to step in and help shape the next chapter.
This hospital sits in a vibrant, welcoming town just outside of Indianapolis. It s the kind of place where you ll find great restaurants, shopping, and excellent sports activities and recreation centers without the hassle of big-city living. Many physicians here find little need to head into the city; the amenities, community, and lifestyle make it easy to stay local.
Position Highlights:
- Acute inpatient rehab within a large hospital system
- 1:4 call schedule (call structure being re-evaluated to improve coverage)
- Advanced Practice Provider support
- Medicine call handled by the hospitalist team
- Physiatrist responsible for admissions, discharges, and rounding
- Opportunity to develop an outpatient program if desired.
- Ability to collaborate with neurosurgeons EMGs and pain management welcome
- Academic environment with 65 residents and a full medical school.
