38 bed short stay unit for patients that are being admitted under observation status. Observation is a “short stay”. Most patients are from the ED and are sent to obs for additional testing before d/c (I.e. Echo, stress, MRI, etc…). Unit Size/Beds: 38 Expected Ratios: Up to 1-7 (Really try for 1-6) Cases seen: ACS rule out, TIA rule out, Pain Control, Some overnight Surgical cases Years of Exp preferred: at least 2 Certifications required: Telemetry AMed Surg and/or Surgical Experience required. Telemetry experience required. IV insertion skills preferred but not required. BLS (AHA only) Required
