Infection Prevention Manager
Overview
The Infection Prevention Manager plays a key role in promoting a safe clinical environment by overseeing surveillance, education, and prevention initiatives across the hospital. This leader identifies hospital-acquired infections, monitors outbreaks, and collaborates with all departments to drive evidence-based practices that reduce risk and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing infection control surveillance to identify hospital-acquired infections, trends, clusters, and potential outbreaks.
- Develop, review, and implement system-wide infection prevention policies and best practices.
- Partner with clinical and non-clinical departments to ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
- Conduct in-service training and education to promote consistent infection control awareness across all staff.
- Serve as the liaison between the Infection Control Committee and hospital departments, facilitating communication and follow-through on initiatives.
- Lead quality improvement efforts related to infection prevention and regulatory readiness.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
Experience Requirements
- 5+ years’ demonstrated experience in infection prevention across various clinical specialties (required)
- 1+ year in a healthcare leadership capacity (project leadership, oversight, team lead, etc.) (required)
Certifications
- Certified in Infection Control (CIC) preferred
