- Full-Time Schedule: Work an outpatient clinic schedule Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (with a 1-hour lunch). The role includes 1-2 weekdays and some weekend call shifts.
- Balanced Workload:
- Outpatient Clinic: See 15-20 patients per day (40-minute new patient, 20-minute established).
- Inpatient Call: Manage 15-20 patients with only 3-4 new consults expected.
- Procedures/Reads: Required reads include EKG, Echos, TEEs, and Nuclear Studies.
- Supportive Environment: The team includes EP, Interventional, and General Cardiologists, plus APP support to assist with patient flow, consults, admits, and stress tests. Echo services are available 24/7.
- EMR System: The facility uses EPIC for all charting.
- Provide outpatient cardiology clinic services.
- Read a variety of non-invasive diagnostic tests (EKG, Echo, TEE, Nuclear).
- Cover inpatient call, performing testing that APPs cannot do.
- Consult with hospital staff (on call with a 30-minute response time), though overnight physical call-ins are uncommon.
- If on call during the week, the day is likely dedicated to reading/procedures rather than clinic.
- Education: MD or DO.
- Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Licensure: An active Illinois State License is REQUIRED. The facility will consider IMLC.
- Certifications: ATLS, BLS, DEA, and CSR licenses are required.
- The target start date is April 10, 2026.
