Job Details:
• Work 12-hour weekend night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Work every weekend and every other holiday
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float; mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Provide care for trauma, orthopedic, and neurological patients
• Patient population includes trauma cases, orthopedic patients (broken hip/femur), and neuro patients (scheduled neck/back procedures, spine/rib fractures)
• Patient ratio: Nights 1:4-7 (CN takes patients on nights)
• Required skills: Strong neuro assessment, log rolling patients, applying assistive devices (back brace, immobilizer), telemetry/12-lead EKG interpretation, PIV insertion
• Preferred skills: Chest tube/drain management, drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, PEGs/NGs, Buck's traction, pin site care, On-Q management, CIWA/BH, wound care
• Minimum 2 years RN experience, one full year ortho/neuro/trauma, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
