Children’s Hospital of Michigan seeks a full-time Pediatric Pulmonology/Pediatric Sleep Medicine physician, board certified in Pediatrics and board certified or eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. The role involves care for a high-acuity, diverse pediatric population with conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic ventilation needs, neuromuscular and interstitial lung disease, and a broad range of sleep disorders. The position is faculty-level within a multi-provider division at a major pediatric hospital in the Detroit metropolitan area.
The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position in Pediatric Pulmonology/Pediatric Sleep Medicine. Candidates should be board certified in Pediatrics and board certified or board eligible in Sleep Medicine and Pediatric Pulmonology.
The Division consists of 4 Physicians and 1 PA. The team sees a diverse population with high acuity, including:
Asthma
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia
Patients requiring chronic ventilation or non-invasive ventilation
Neuromuscular disorders
Cystic fibrosis
Sleep disorders
Interstitial lung disease
Sickle cell lung disease
The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Sleep Center treats children experiencing the following symptoms:
Significant snoring
Sleep apnea
Trouble sleeping (insomnia)
Excessive daytime sleepiness
Unusual movements during sleep
Excessive leg kicking
Sleep walking
Evening leg pain
Nightmares or night terrors
Problems with sleep or wake schedule
Daytime behavior problems
