A leading healthcare organization in Northwest Florida is seeking a full-time Board-Certified Internist or Family Medicine physician with experience in geriatrics to serve as Medical Director for its community-based Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). About the PACE Program: PACE serves individuals aged 55 or older who are certified by the state to need nursing home care, yet are able to live safely in the community at the time of enrollment. The program supports seniors in maintaining their independence in their homes for as long as possible, while delivering all needed medical and supportive services. Although all participants must be certified to need nursing home care, only about 7% of PACE participants nationally reside in a nursing home. If nursing home care is required, the PACE program funds and coordinates the care, ensuring continuity and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general medical direction and supervision of participant care, ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes.
- Oversee the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and develop medical policies and procedures.
- Conduct history and physical exams on new participants and perform periodic reassessments.
- Develop and manage individualized medical treatment plans.
- Evaluate applicants for the PACE program and participate in intake and assessment decisions.
- Educate participants and families about health maintenance and chronic medical conditions.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
- Supervise healthcare and treatment programs developed by the team.
- Participate in provider on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications:
- Board-Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Experience in geriatrics is preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive base salary ranging from $240,000 to $270,000.
