Nurse Practioner Neurosurgery Locums in Hickory NC We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide coverage for our Neurosurgery department. This opportunity involves assisting in surgical cases during the maternity leave of one of our APPs (Advanced Practice Providers), starting in mid-late September.
Coverage Details:

Schedule:
- Clinic Hours: To Be Determined (TBD)
- Hospital Hours: Variable, including ER call and surgery assistance
- Preferred Schedule: 7 days/week, flexible with variations as needed
- Call Night/Weekend: Yes, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM
Patient Care and Consults:
- Patient Load: Clinic patient load unknown
- Availability for ER calls: Needed with varying frequency
Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Comfort with Brain and Spine cases is essential
- Support staff available: Hospitalists, OR staff, RN staff, outpatient office staff
- Practice Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
- Charting/EMR: Clinic - Athena, Hospital - Cerner
- Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible - Preferred
- Fellowship: Preferred but not required
- Temporary Privileges: Granted
Duties and Rounds:
- Schedule to Fill: Hospital and clinic, if feasible
- Rounding: Yes, including post-operative care
- Average Admissions per Shift: Varies, typically 1-2
