Urgent Care Job Description

UK King's Daughters, a 455-bed regional referral center in Ashland, Ky. We are presenting a lucrative opportunity for a dedicated and patient-centered and board eligible/certified Urgent Care Physician.

This is an excellent opportunity to practice with a collaborative team of providers and support staff, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and integrated EMR across the UK HealthCare system.

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of urgent medical conditions and minor injuries.
• Perform in-office procedures such as suturing, splinting, abscess drainage, and wound care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging.
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Refer patients for follow-up care with primary care or specialty providers as needed.
• Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Maintain current knowledge of best practices in urgent care and participate in continuing education.
• Ensure compliance with all clinical policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
