American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float position, requiring a MO or compact RN license and ICU experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a short-term acute care hospital setting
- Float between multiple ICUs including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac/Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID units
- May float to inpatient floors as needed with a maximum ratio of 1:3 for non-ICU units
- ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1 on all shifts
- Night shift position working three 12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- Every other weekend is required
- Use of Epic EMR system; Epic experience required
- Scrub color is navy blue
- Duties include floating between critical care units and inpatient floors as assigned
- May be asked to work as a patient sitter if needed
- Candidates may be floated to affiliate hospitals nearby
- Preferred skills include Swans-hemodynamic interpretation, IABP, Impella, ECMO, vasoactive drips, CRRT, trauma experience, PA lines, triage, and Level 1 Trauma experience
- Must complete required modules prior to start date
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Free parking is provided
- No medical marijuana cards accepted
- No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract and none during the first week
- Candidates must be able to complete fit testing for N95 or equivalent
- Active MO or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with vents, IV start, telemetry, and conscious sedation required
- Epic charting experience required
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility—no local candidates accepted
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Will not accept first time travelers
- Valid SSN and date of birth required for consideration
