American Traveler is seeking an AK-licensed RN for a long-term care position with variable night/day shifts and BLS certification required.
Responsibilities- Work in a long-term care setting with residents of various ages
- Position includes both night shifts and some day shift coverage, with 12-hour shifts
- On-call responsibility rotates weekly among staff, with a required 30-minute response time and presence on the island
- Rotating on-call schedule means each nurse is on-call one out of every three weeks
- Team includes RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and ward clerks
- Coordinate and deliver individualized nursing care to residents in accordance with care plans and physician's orders
- Supervise and delegate responsibilities to CNAs, LPNs, and other support staff during shift
- Participate in patient, family, and staff education as well as care conferences
- Contribute to assessment, develop and implement care plans, and document nursing procedures and responses in the EHR
- Promote infection control practices and uphold nursing standards and policies
- May serve as charge nurse or contact RN when needed in the absence of the DON
- Scrub or dress code must be followed according to facility policy
- Required to attend at least 50% of departmental staff meetings and complete all mandatory competencies and trainings
- Active and current Alaska (AK) RN license required for consideration
- Minimum of one year RN experience
- Certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, ATT
- Must provide two fingerprint cards upon acceptance
