- Weekly Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours available)
- Weekend Shifts: Required (minimum 3 per 6-week schedule)
- Floating: Required (to Medical-Surgical/ICU units as needed)
- Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
- Previous Charge Nurse experience required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (CPI, NIHSS, TNCC, NRP/ENPC, STABLE preferred)
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- Community hospital experience required; Level II Trauma experience preferred
- Ability to care for diverse patient populations: neonates, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics
- Willingness to float to similar units as needed
- Serve as Charge Nurse during night shifts in a high-volume Emergency Department
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care to all age groups with varied diagnoses (medical, surgical, trauma, OB/GYN, cardiac, neuro, and more)
- Manage patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 based on acuity
- Perform and oversee procedures: chest tubes, thoracentesis, paracentesis, rapid sequence intubation (RSI), splinting, procedural sedation, central lines, ultrasound-guided IVs
- Utilize advanced ER equipment: rapid infusers, Lifepack monitors, GE EKGs, Glidescopes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital protocols
- Float to Medical-Surgical and ICU units as needed, adapting to changing patient needs
