The Lead Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) supervises shift activities, provides expert clinical support, and manages staffing and assignments in respiratory care settings. This role acts as a resource and mentor, promoting teamwork and ensuring high standards of patient safety and quality care. Requires an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, licensure, certifications, and clinical experience in various patient care environments.
Overview: Supports the supervision of shift activities, and acts as the expert during his or her assigned shift. Duties include daily support of staffing and assignments, providing resource support, supporting preceptor tasks, and fulfilling assigned patient care workload. Serves as a role model and advocates a highly efficient, accountable and collaborative team environment between staff and with physicians. - Associates Degree Requires an Associates in Respiratory Therapy Sciences Required
- 2 years of clinical experience in respiratory care. Current BCLS, ACLS and NRP certifications . Proficient in all patient care settings (i.e., adult ICU, NICU). If limited NICU experience, able to ramp up basic skill set (i.e., delivery support, blood gases, equipment setup) within a defined timeframe Required
- Is a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); has and maintains a current licensure as a Respiratory Care Professional in the state of Georgia Required
