The role focuses exclusively on hospital consults and procedures no outpatient responsibilities with patient and procedural volume varying daily.

Procedures Required:
Endoscopies
Colonoscopies
ERCP (Required)
Types of Cases: GI bleed, SBO, food bolus, ulceration, gastritis, abdominal pain, carcinoma diagnosis (no treatment)
Admissions: Managed by hospitalists (not the GI provider)
EMR: Paragon (transitioning to EPIC in late 2026)
Support: Endoscopy-trained GI nursing staff; anesthesia backup available (conscious sedation preferred)
