Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a compact RN license, 2 years of MS/Tele experience, and ACLS/BLS/NIH certs.
Responsibilities
- Work in a short-term acute care hospital within the Med/Surg Tele unit
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6
- Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
- Utilizes Epic for charting
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
- Every other weekend is required
- Floating to like units within scope of practice required
- On-call is not required
- First time travelers are accepted for this assignment
- Royal blue and white scrubs are required
- Holiday coverage may be required based on facility need
- RTO requests are at manager's discretion and must be submitted with application
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Cannot live within 50 miles of the facility
- Former staff must be gone at least 1 year to return as a traveler
- System allows only 2 consecutive contracts before a 6-month break is required
