Required CertificationPosition Responsibilities- Prepare, process, embed, cut, coverslip, stain, and mount tissue specimens for pathologist evaluation
- Perform special stains and IHC on tissue and quality control slides
- Accession pathology and cytology specimens in the computer system
- Communicate specimen issues with providers
- Prepare GYN and Non-GYN cytology specimens and order molecular studies
- Perform frozen sections
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance and maintain documentation
- Maintain inventory and communicate supply needs
- Dispose of specimens and hazardous chemicals per policy
- Pick up specimens from hospital departments as required
- Train new employees and interns
- Attend lab meetings, in-services, and educational seminars
